What is Halal or Haram in food for Muslims?🧐
The Quran has many rules that teach Muslims to choose and eat healthy foods. 🌞
In the choice of food and drink, Islam has established three very important guidelines:
✅ If the consumption of food is forbidden by Allah.
✅ If the food is obtained by “halal” or “haram” means.
✅ Whether the product is harmful to health or not.
Halal is a Qur’anic term that means “permitted, authorized.” Allah allows the consumption of halal food and drink. 🧃
In Islam there is a special ritual of slaughtering an animal. For animals allowed in Islam they must be slaughtered correctly to be considered halal.
The act of slaughter aims to guarantee the quality of the meat and avoid any microbial contamination. For example, an animal that is dead but not euthanized is usually associated with the disease. 😷
Most diseases arise from the blood of an animal. Therefore, slaughter is mandatory to ensure complete drainage of blood from the animal’s body, which minimizes the risk of microbial infection. This is important for the cleansing that is proposed in Islam. 🌼
Haram is a Qur’anic term that means “forbidden or illegal.” Haram foods and drinks are absolutely forbidden by Allah, therefore forbidden for all Muslims. 🧕 👳♂️
They are considered Haram, according to Islamic regulations:
🚫 The meat of the animal found dead.
🚫 The blood.
🚫 Pork and wild boar meat, as well as its derivatives.
🚫The animals slaughtered without the invocation of the name of God.
🚫Carnivores and scavengers, as well as birds with claws.
🚫Alcohol, alcoholic beverages, harmful or poisonous substances, and toxic plants or beverages.
🚫 Ingredients from animals or Haram products, such as pork jelly. Additives, preservatives, colorants, flavors, etc., produced from Haram ingredients.
Avoiding Haram things in food will help you have better health at the level of your body as well as your mind. 💪
